Tiny Lives is a charitable trust that helps to care for 800+ premature and sick newborn babies and their families each year. It supports the Newcastle Neonatal Service at Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary that cares for babies from across the North East and Cumbria.

Story

Around two years ago Lucy Page was born during an emergency caesarean operation after pregnancy complications led to Lucy and her mum Carolyn being in a critical condition.  Lucy was born over three months prematurely and weighed less than 2lb.  Thanks to the fantastic staff on the maternity ward at Whitehaven hospital and also at the neonatal intensive care department of the RVI in Newcastle, Lucy is now a fantastic, healthy, almost two year old little girl.

Now after making a drunken (and quite possibly foolish) agreement in a pub back in February Tom and Owen are competing in "The Crossing".  This is a three day mountain bike race which goes from Whitehaven on the West coast in Cumbria to Scarborough on the East coast of Yorkshire.  This is nearly 200 miles of mainly off-road riding which includes over 6000m of ascent.

Tom and Owen are trying to raise as much money as possible for the Tiny Lives charity.  This charity supports the neonatal unit in Newcastle as well as supporting the hundreds of distressed parents and vulnerable babies who pass through the unit each year.

Thank you for visiting this page and having a look.  Tom, Owen and Tiny Lives would really appreciate any donation you can make.
