Dear friends and family!

As most of you know my son William was born with a hole in his heart. The plan was to help him gain enough weight to have surgery to repair it. The time came last October for this to be done. Unfortunately the patch up worked too well and our lil mans heart couldn’t cope with the change causing him to become very unwell! By the end of October the doctors and surgeons had a plan and carried out another operation to fix the problem. 

Thankfully our lil mans heart has embraced a pressure valve feature and it really is a life saver! It has been 2 months since his surgeries and William is recovering really well! He’s growing and developing much faster than we can keep up with now, which we love!

This all would not have been possible without the amazing people at Southampton hospital! To the surgeons who saved his life, the consultants that swiftly diagnosed and treated him and the nurses that cared for him. We thank you for everything! I would also like to pay a special thank you to the staff in the ocean ward, not only did they care for our baby boy but they helped us as parents too! They supported us through everything from changing nappies, feeding, sending us away for sleep and even making sure we went out to eat on top of their nurse duties!

As you know our NHS is extremely under funded and most of the support the Ocean Ward comes from charity fundraising! 

So as they have helped my family through the most stressful and scary 7 weeks of my life I have planned to do some fundraising of my own to support future families who need it! In August 2019 I will be doing a tough mudder for the first time with my friends.
