Story
Tom & Rosie are running a 3 km "Dash for Cash" on Saturday, 23 June to raise money for their new library at Maple School, St Albans.
As well as the Maple PTA Library Challenge, half the money raised will go to the Miriam Hyman Memorial Trust, a charity set up in memory of Miriam, who was one of the fifty-two killed in the London bombings of 7/7 2005. Her family has done an incredible job so far by founding the trust and raising money for the Miriam Hyman Children's Eye Care Centre in India.
The MHMT continues to raise funds to build capacity in the MHCECC and to raise awareness of childhood blindness. Read more by following the link.... http://www.miriam-hyman.com/index.html
All the children at Maple School will be delighted, when they return to school after the summer holidays, to see they have a spacious new and fully stocked library. At the moment, their library is a few shelves in an alcove in the corridor. So far, Maple PTA have raised enough funds to build the extension for the library and the final challenge on Saturday, 23 June 2012, which consists of the Maple Marathon being walked/run/cycled by parents and staff and the Dash for Cash being run by the children, will enable the PTA to buy the shelving and books in order to complete this challenge.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
