We are a local branch of the Round Table, based in Macclesfield. We raise money for local good causes through events such as an Annual Charity Beer Festival. This year we are doing a 60 mile kayak trip to raise monel for the Calvert Trust. http://www.calvert-trust.org.uk/

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 24th June a group of able bodied and disabled friends, colleagues, parents and team mates will be riding along the 60 miles from Burnley, along the Leeds Liverpool Canal and into Manchester finishing at the Y club where the club is based. The ride is a part of the Manchester Mavericks 21st anniversary celebrations. During this period it has grown to a club with five teams, U15's, U19's, First and Third Division and Women's that play in the British Wheelchair Basketball National League. The intention is to raise awareness and to raise funds to allow the Club to continue its great work and to provide additional basketball wheelchairs and equipment to support the junior teams in playing in the National League.

The juniors have been extremely successful with three winning Gold representing North of England at the UK School Games and four winning gold at the BWB National Junior Championships while representing the North West. They also have one junior player, Jordanna Bartlett, who won a bronze medal with Great Britain at the World Championships, in Canada.

Macclesfield round table has kindly agreed to back  Mavericks by allowing us to use their just giving page. The money will all make its way to Mavericks.
