I'm taking part in a charity fund raising bike ride from the 15th - 16th August. The ride is almost completely off road and will cover 100 miles of the South Downs Way. Any money raised is going to the local Reigate and Redhill YMCA and will contribute to numerous beneficial projects run by the charity. Events like this provide support for their ongoing schemes such as providing respite care for the disabled. Another programme provides support for young homeless people whilst another accommodates the rehabilitation of people recovering from long-term illness. This cause is important to me in particular as the YMCA maintains a large focus on the younger community.
