My story

Rett is a genetic condition that is non-heriditary - it could happen to anyone with a little girl under 2, robbing them of the ability to speak or to walk. It is usually fatal in boys within hours of birth.

Carys is the daughter of a colleague at OUP. A cure for Carys means a cure for every one of these little girls. Amazingly Rett has been reversed in the laboratory. A cure is is close but it requires high-quality research and resources.

Rett Syndrome Research Trust is run on a voluntary basis by parents of girls with Rett. Almost all donations go directly to research.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
