Join The Cator Troops as we run six half marathons in four continents to raise money for Cancer Research UK and help Charles Cator on his road to recovery!
What started as the ambitious challenge of running The Bath Half in support of Cancer Research UK has spiraled with the energy from an almost overwhelming amount of support from friends and family around the world into something much bigger. On 1st March 2015 there will now be an international relay of c.200 runners, running on 4 Continents, in 6 different countries, covering a staggering 81 miles. The challenge will begin with the baton starting early in the morning in Melbourne, moving steadily through the day to Hong Kong, Bath, Ireland, Vancouver and will eventually conclude with the setting sun in California.
As many of you know my Girlfriend's Father, Charles Cator, was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma in August. We have since found out that it is an aggressive form of Blastoid Mantle Cell Lymphoma - or as he calls it, "the Norfolk way of saying blasted!" He is now having a bone marrow transplant and various other evil sounding drugs to help him keep it under control. This is a rare form of cancer and research is ongoing, to develop a new and more effective form of treatment and there are drugs in the pipeline that may offer hope for a cure in the future. “Cancer Research UK” is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer and so the family have decided to raise money for them and “Stem Cell Research” to help their Father on his road to recovery.
Join The Cator Troops to make the 1st March 2015 a day to remember, and an event that will make a huge impact on a charity helping not just for their Father, but the 400 people diagnosed with cancer in the UK every day.
Please support this intrepid endeavor and sponsor all the runners by donating to our joint JustGiving Page.
Thank you so much for your support.
