We provide nursing & end of life care to local children

Story

Our 10 year old daughter, Rosie, suffers from a rare neurological condition, resulting in unpredictable seizures, and has special and complex needs. As part of her care package, we are lucky enough to benefit from regular respite care at Hope House Hospice near Oswestry. This wonderful place provides often sorely needed respite stays for potentially life-limited children, giving their parents/carers a chance to "recharge batteries", knowing that their children are in the best possible hands.

In our case, this has enabled myself, my wife and our energetic 12 year old son to do what we love most, getting out into the mountains. Hence, having wanted for some time to do some fund-raising, it was not difficult to decide on a suitable challenge. Myself and a friend will  be attempting to walk across the Scottish Highlands from Fort William to Braemar, taking in all the 4000' peaks on the way, during the second week of September. We will be setting off from Glen Nevis YHA to climb our first peak, Ben Nevis, early on Saturday 8th September, all being well. All I have to do is to get fit!
