My story

Thanks so much for landing on my Just giving Page. All the details of our fundraising expedition for “Walking With the Wounded” can be found on the following link www.holkham.co.uk/charitycycleride.

What started as a plan to cycle back from Switzerland by myself, has snowballed into a major expedition with friends volunteering to join me, and sponsors kindly providing financial support and a van for our support team. All cyclists are paying for their own accommodation, flights and meals so you can be assured that all donations go direct to WWTW, a very worthy charity, and in the news at the moment thanks to the very successful programme ‘Harry’s Arctic Heroes’ screened on BBC1 last month.

To prepare for this I have done 1,500 miles on my new racing bike in the last six months, but all in the cyclist’s haven of the flatlands of Norfolk. As the challenge approaches I know I haven’t done enough…No amount of Lycra (why did I not know of this wonderful material prior to my 46th year?) or the charmingly named "Aussie Butt cream" will protect me!

800 miles in ten days; It’s going to be tough and very painful.
