Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Each cyclist is being asked to raise a minimum of £1,000, with all proceeds going to Hospitality Action. So please dig deep and donate now, it's for a very worthy cause...
For this challenge, I will leave London on 29 June and pass through the English countryside before crossing over the Channel, finally arriving in Paris on 1 July.
The route is considered to be one of the best cycling routes in Europe, and two leading chefs have already signed up to take part. Michelin-starred Alan Murchison of L’Ortolan in Shinfield, Berkshire, and Hayden Groves, Elior’s executive chef at Lloyd’s of London are both keen cyclists and eager to rise to the challenge. They will be joined by Michael Cross, Hospitality Action board member and winner of the 2011 HA’s Heroes award.
Murchison commented: “Cycling this number of miles in three days requires months of training, dedication and commitment. To do this event for such a worthy cause as Hospitality Action will make all the hard work and effort worthwhile.”
Groves added: “To ride 270 miles between two of the greatest cities in Europe is quite a challenge. However, to complete it in three days for the HA will be both a sporting achievement and a privilege. Our motto is “three days, two wheels, one reason”.”
