On the 23rd March I’ll be rough sleeping in the stands of St James Park with the team from Canny Cod, a local fish and chip shop to raise money for CEO Sleepout UK, a charity which does amazing work tackling and raising awareness to the ongoing homelessness problem in Newcastle. Newcastle, infamously cold, sadly has many members of the community rough sleeping often in sun zero temperatures, something which is noticeable when walking around town during the day and on nights out. We are fortunate enough to have safe and warm student accommodation, something which so many don’t have the luxury of. On the night of the sleepout we will be outside from 6pm - 8am with nothing but a sleeping bag and a pillow so we can to the best of our ability try and replicate the harsh realities that many people sadly face on a daily basis. I’ll be sending updates all night of myself as I slowly morph into a human ice cube, but we would really appreciate all or any donation or a share of the just giving page, as all money goes straight towards this wonderful charity which is so reliant on the kindness of strangers. The difference that 1 donation might not seem substantial but many small deeds together can create a huge impact.
