Flora London Marathon 2006 · 23 April 2006 ·

The Epilepsy Research Institute’s mission is to radically advance research for the #Onein100 people living with epilepsy. A life free from epilepsy is possible. But only through research We need energetic, adventurous and creative people like you to help us raise vital funds for epilepsy research!

Story

Epilepsy is the second most common neurological condition after migraine; it affects around 1 in 131 people in the UK alone (roughly half a million people). Although it can be controlled with current medications around 20% of those affected continue having seizures despite taking anti-epileptic drugs.

I shall be running the Flora London marathon this April in support of the Epilepsy Research Foundation; a charity which promotes and supports basic and clinical scientific research into the causes, treatment and prevention of epilepsy.

This is a cause very close to my heart; as an epileptic myself I understand well that scientific research into epilepsy provides not only breakthroughs in it's treatment but also hope for the many people whose seizures are uncontrolled by medications. For these reasons I hope you will give generously to this most worthy of causes.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Epilepsy Research Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
