Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to dust off the running shoes and prepare myself for 26.2 gruelling miles at the Tokyo Marathon in February along with my good friend Jonathan.  I will be paying for all my own flights and costs so all fundraising will go directly to CdLS.

For those of you reading this who are not aware of what CdLS is or why I have chosen to run for them then this next paragraph is solely for your benefit.

My younger sister Victoria is a mild sufferer of CdLS and my parents have both been heavily involved in the charity since my sister was diagnosed some 20 years ago.  My older sister Sara has also given up a lot of time with her Speech and Language skills to help CdLS families.  As for me, I don't really have much to offer at all so therefore I decided I could do my little bit of fundraising for such a valuable cause.

This will be my 3rd marathon and as im getting older im realising the need to actually do some training if im going to complete this marathon - Throughout the winter I am aiming to run at least 50 miles per week and hope to clock up 1000 miles of training before we jet off to Tokyo.  The last marathon I took part in was in New York in November 2006 and I struggled to complete this through injury and fatigue so I realise what a challenge this one is going to be!  I believe that the extra pressure of dealing with the jet lag could make this even harder but I hoping that the training pays off!

Please Please Please dig deep, think of me puffing and panting on those freezing winter nights and make this trip to Tokyo benefictial for such a well worth cause.
