2004 was quite a frought year; to be told the biopsy showed a malignant tumour, closely followed by a fairly serious filleting, unfortunately Maggies Highland was just being built and even a year later when I was back for radiotherapy Maggie's was just due to open.  However, after a period of stability things again started to go wrong, I was back to Raigmore for tests and scans, urology handed me to oncology, oncology handed me back to urology; the upshot is a quarterly implant to zap any bits that cancer cells might try to latch on to.

While going back and forth to Inverness to be prodded and scanned it's Maggie's, Carole, the volunteers and other patients that helped me work through everything, filled me with coffee and cookies and twisted my arm (In the nicest way possible!) to join in with the yoga and creative writing, and even return specifically to attend a seminar on nutrition (Followed by a delicious organic lunch).
