Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in people’s homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.

Story

At the end of October this year I will be leaving the "sunny shores" of Scotland on my biggest adventure todate!  Until a few years ago I couldn't run the length of my body let alone contemplate 26 miles.  With the help of family and friends I am hoping to complete the New York Marathon on 1st November 2009.  My target time when training started in mid June was 4 hrs 30 mins.  I am currently running to sub 4 hour pace so training is going well (touch wood) - we will see how the remaining few months go . . . . my legs are certainly hurting!

There are very few people who have not been affected by cancer - either directly or indirectly.  In such cases Marie Curie Cancer Care provide an invaluable service to terminally ill people and their families which is why I chose that they benefit from my fund raising activities.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Marie Curie and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, they will then claim 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, from the government.

So please dig deep and donate now.  Every penny counts!

Cheers

Tony
