Story
The plan to cycle & run was first mentioned to me by David McTeague last year, after I had not long started running. Running a half marathon for charity is something that is done quite often, therefore the plan was to do something rather different. That is why we are cycling up to Newcastle (over 300 miles) in 3 days, before then running the Great North Run. The strange thing is I don't think I ever actually agreed to this. I was somehow told I was obviously going to be part of the group doing it & here I am 9 months later, putting in the miles on my bike & pounding the streets.
I do sometimes question the craziness of this challenge, especially at 5:30am, last Wednesday, when I was doing my strengthening/stretching exercises before running to work as a training run!!
As David lost his father to multiple sclerosis a few years ago, it was the obvious choice of charity to do this challenge for.
I really appreciate any donations you can make for this great cause, no matter how small. It will make my feet & legs very happy :-)
