My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.Hope you like the picture!! Is it Tony or have I been confused with somebody else?!!!!!!!
Six years ago in 2005 my fantastic friends Paul and Claire Woodington and their four children felt called by God to go and join MAF in Austrailia.
Paul gave up his incredibly well paid job writing software for banks in the City and sold his amazing property in Tewin Wood (including a wonderful outdoor swimming pool which I used many times!). Most of their possessions also had to go as they weren't readily transportable to Austrailia!
The Woodingtons self-funded the whole training and study period as Paul passed all of his exams to become a pilot and also did a degree! In 2007 Paul was posted to Gove in Arnham Land in the Northern Territories of Austrailia: a remote and desolate area, living and working with the indigenious Aboriginies. In 2011, Paul was also seconded to East Timor for four months.
For his second four year challenge with MAF Paul is being posted to Papua New Guinea as a Pilot, Trainer and Director
In recent times, all of the money has run out and the Woodingtonsl now have to rely on the support of family and friends to keep him 'in the field'. Most of Paul's work involves either flying to remote islands or places that are practically inaccessible by road, picking up local inhabitants who are chronically ill and airlifting them to hospital or taking aid to the same communities. If it wasn't for Paul and his colleagues then many lives would have been lost........
I have included a picture of the Woodington family on this page as well as a Youtube clip. Please do take time to look, it is only a couple of minutes long! All of the money raised will go to helping keep Paul doing what he loves doing!

For countless men, women and children cut off by difficult or dangerous terrain, and deprived of basic necessities for a full and healthy life, our planes serve those bringing medical, relief and development services, as well as by sharing the Gospel. MAF works in places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
