Tough Enough Challenge 2013 · 5 October 2012

Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

On 14th March 2013, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is hosting its forth annual ‘Tough Enough Challenge’ at their Training Centre in Chorley and is looking for volunteers to help raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.

The event this year has been specifically designed for the 2nd Year students at UCLAN who are studying on the the Fire and Leadership Degree.

The activities will closely resemble the first practical training session that new firefighters must complete when they join the service. This is a day that many recruits question their decision to join the service. Tasks such as hose and hydrant drills will be followed by navigating the ’Spiders Web’ and the ‘Confined Space Gallery’.
