Hey folks,
Thanks very much for visiting the page....I'll try and keep it brief so as to leave you enough time to make your donation! The Charity We are very keen to use this opportunity to help support a charity that you may well have been in contact with yourself, if not you probably know someone who has. Maggies Cancer Centres provide a hugely important sanctuary and point of support for so many people at times when many of them feel lost and overwhelmed by the perils of facing cancer or a loved one undergoing cancer diagnosis and treatment. Please help us to help them carry on providing special places for people who feel frightened and vulnerable to turn to. The Expedition Neither Jim or I are experienced cyclists but we are ambitious! Baggaged up to the hilt with all the camping equipment and supplies needed for a week, we will be leaving Castle Bay in Barra (at the bottom of the Outer Hebrides) on the 13th July and cycling 110 miles all the way to Stornoway, in Lewis at the top, at the end of the 15th. We have made our plans and booked our trip so we do only have 3 days to complete the expedition-regardless of the weather! Training has gone well so far with a 15 mile cycle to Musselburgh and back-in a full on thunder and lightning storm!- We still have two training missions to complete-Edinburgh-Gullane and back then our last preparation- Edinburgh to Glasgow then to Falkirk to catch the train! The last day of our expedition should be a really adventurous challenge-through the treacherous hilly Harris peat bogs, completing 56 miles in one day, whatever the weather! So please help incentivize our trip and donate to help us help Maggies Cancer Centres. Feel free to get in touch if you would like more information about The Expedition. We will shortly be sending you details on how to view our blog keeping you up to date with the progress of our training, live expedition updates, and fundraising news. Many, many thanks, Henry Broadhurst Jim Campbell Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
