At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

In support of our partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, and a focus on health and wellbeing we have put together a National Grid Grand Tour cycle challenge. This is a multiday, multistage event with over 1,300 km of open roads and 13,000m of climbing. This event is scheduled to take place from 4th - 13th September. This is a fantastic opportunity to ride the country, along our networks, through beautiful countryside and tackle those challenging hills!

Each of the 10 stages will start and end at one of our key gas and electricity sites in addition to taking in Warwick, Wokingham and the Strand. This first stage will start at St Fergus on the 4th September and the last stage ends at the Isle of Grain on the 13th September.

This is a mammoth undertaking organised and managed by volunteers from the business. Every penny raised will enable Alzheimer’s Support Workers to provide practical support and guidance to individuals and families living with dementia.

In addition to the money riders raise, all National Grid employees can claim up to £400 match giving.
