Bupa Great South Run 2009 · 25 October 2009 ·

Imagine being told your toddler you thought was healthy, but perhaps slow to progress, in fact had a rare and devastating disability that would leave them needing lifelong 24/7 care. Rett syndrome changes lives irrevocably. With your support Rett UK is there from the beginning. #ToKnowHerIsToLoveHer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know, Paul and I are committed to raising money to fund vital research into the cause of Retts Syndrome, a condition which our lovely daughter Jasmine was diagnosed with at 18 months of age. Jasmine is a very happy girl, loving life and school. Each day we strive to make her stronger and stronger giving her the best life we can, however the condition is a deteriorating one which leaves Retts girls often, multiply disabled. This is why we are trying our best to raise every penny to help towards research, which will not cure Jasmine and the girls but stop them deteriorating.

Each year,we try to raise money through events for our families, friends and colleagues to enjoy. In addition, I have allocated myself the task of completing a challenge each year to raise money.  This year it is a ten mile run, the Great South Run.  I have persuaded 6 great friends to help me in this task and we have all been training hard. The event will take place on Sunday 25th October.

Many of you have always been so kind in the past supporting us and I hate to keep asking for donations, but will do anything for Jazz.  Hopefully if you think of the task ahead, for me and the girls completing the run, you may think it worthy of a small donation.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you so much again.....now you just have to wish me luck!!!!!!
