This charity is close to my heart as in 2007 my younger brother, Allan, developed the condition 'Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome' (ARDS) after a long and complicated operation.  The cause and treatment for ARDS is still being researched by scientist across the world and although doctors are getting better at treating ARDS, about a third of patients will still not survive.

Watching my brother fight for his life for 6 long weeks has made me determined to raise awareness of this condition.
