Story
Rett syndrome is a neurological disorder caused by a faulty gene. It affects mainly girls and causes a multitude of problems. Imagine the symptoms of autism, epilepsy and cerebral palsy in one little girl...That's what my friend's daughter Amy and her family have to cope with every day. Amy can't walk, talk or use her hands. She needs 24 hour care. Despite this, Amy's personality shines through (as you can see from her photo...).
I'm running a 5K this September to help raise money for the Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK. Scientists have successfully reversed Rett syndrome in the lab and it's thought that this could be the first revesible neurological disorder. Please sponsor me to help raise urgently needed funds to continue this vital work.Any amount will be gratefully received and will help make a better future for girls like Amy. Thank you.
