I'm running this year's Great Manchester 10k in memory of Ali Corney.  Ali contracted meningitis during the New Year of 2006 and tragically passed away that Spring following a brave yet terrible battle with the disease, leaving behind her friends, her family, and her boyfriend Andy; my brother.
 
I have chosen to run for The Meningitis Research Foundation this year (in previous years we have run on behalf of The Meningitis Trust and Meningitis Research UK) to raise both awareness of the disease and the charity, and to raise as much money as possible to support its research in to preventing meningitis and septicaemia, and improving survival rates and outcomes.
 
I would really appreciate, and am grateful for, any size donation you can spare and look forward to running for The Meningitis Research Foundation in May.
