Those of you who know me & John know our story & how we have lived with John's diagnosis for the last 4 years. I started running last September as a way to lose some weight & get fit, I was amazed at how quickly I caught the running bug. I have found running gives me some 'me' time which has been very important over the past 9 months. John has always encouraged me & with his & the children's support I've decided to take on this challenge. So my training has started I'm comfortable running 5K so I have just got to increase that distance to just over 22K.
Why this charity? I was shocked at how little of the money raised in the UK for cancer charities goes into research into Brain tumours so as we are personally effected by this type of cancer, there was only 1 charity for us to support.
It is with sadness in my heart that I write this, unfortunately my brave husband passed away recently from this awful disease. I'm determined to complete the challenge that I set myself & I know John would be proud.
So my training has started again & I'm counting down the days until the 13th March when I will be running in memory of an amazing man, husband, father, son, brother & friend my soul mate John.
I know many of my friends have been very generous but if you haven't yet donated please do so.
Thank you xx
