Story

Hi everyone, thanks so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On March 1st this year, my cousin Gary's lovely partner Nicky died suddenly without explanation aged only 33. Nicky's favourite charity was Dog's Trust and friends and family donated money in her memory to help care for and rehome unwanted dogs. I wanted to do something else to help and rather recklessly said to Gary 'I'm going to run a 10K for Dog's Trust in Nicky's memory'!

I did it! The 10k course in Henley started with a long hill that got steeper and steeper. I was running with a picture of Nicky pinned to my back which spurred me on but I went through many emotions from despair, disappointment that I thought I wasn't going to get round in a respectable time, extreme thirst and finally elation as I realised I was on target to break 1hr 15mins! I finished the run in 1:13:50 and was absolutely delighted. A couple of friends had set me challenges for extra sponsor money if I did better than1:30 so I'm looking forward to cleaning up there! Gary was there to see me off, cheer me along the route and welcome me across the finish line (see photo) which was wonderful.

It's not too late to sponsor me and I would be so grateful for your support. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Dog's Trust and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for Dog's Trust. Gary and I will be visiting his local Dog's Trust in Shoreham once all the money is in.

So please do sponsor me now.

Thanks so much Tracy :) xx
