Dear Sponsor,

3415 miles, is a long way by anyone’s standards! Travelling this distance by jet plane, takes at least 6 hours. Unfortunately, I won’t have the luxury of a jet engine to help me along the way.

Starting on 8 May 2010, I will be attempting the ‘Mother Of All Bike Rides’, riding from west to east coast of the . Through desserts, across plains and over mountain ranges. Passing through 15 states and climbing cumulatively some 92,000ft.

My inspiration for this incredible journey, has come from the RNIB Rushton School & Children’s Home which is being massively extended, here in to be home for 60 children, together with 10 additional day students.

The school, has been specifically designed to offer advanced, modern amenities to young people that are either blind or partially sighted, whilst also suffering from multiple and complex disabilities.

Being one of the only providers in the country, RNIB Rushton School and Childrens Home will not only be for local young people but children from all over the .

I am sure you will agree, this is an extremely worthy cause. Hopefully, the prospect of this amazing new facility, giving so many a brighter future, together with my 65 year old legs, peddling across the North American continent, will more than encourage you to give generously.

Whether your donation be large or small, every penny counts. Obviously, the more funds raised, the more determined I will be to achieve my goal to ride into on 26 June.

Your support will be gratefully appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

.
