Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
The orang-utan could be extinct in the wild within a generation so myself and a group of colleagues have volunteered to travel to Borneo in May 2006 to help prevent the extinction of one of our closest genetic relatives.
Borneo is one of the last habitats of orang-utans in the wild but due to reasons such as deforestation and poaching it is now believed that this intelligent and sensitive creature could be extinct in the wild within a generation.
Sabah, the second largest state in Malaysia, is situated in the north of Borneo. We will be working in the heart of the jungle in the north east of Sabah to do essential construction and reconstruction work on two projects: to prevent deforestation and retain one of the few remaining natural habitats of the orang-utan and to provide essential infrastructure for an orang-utan rehabilitation project. The work we undertake will be long and hard in a very hot and humid environment. The day will run from 7am till 8.30pm and will be pretty intense, once the working day is finished we will have some well deserved rest before getting some sleep in our hammocks. Yes hammocks! In addition to the project work we are undertaking we will be raising funds for Barnardo's and Get Connected - two outstanding charities supporting children and young adults throughout the UK. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me and if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Many thanks for your support,
Roy (Now also known as Monkey Boy)

Dec 12th Im currently raffling off tickets to see the fugees in concert @ the Hammersmith Appollo on the 14th. Tickets are £1 each and the invitation to buy has been sent out to all the carphone stores in London, and to the CPW headoffice. Hopefully I will raise a substantial amount to help boost the total donations. Total funds raised from the raffle was £78, not too shabby at all. A massive thankyou to everyone who bought a ticket!
