Thanks for visiting Ray and Bev’s wedding fundraising page.

In the spirit of our celebration we’ve chosen a charity which is close to our hearts.

Last November Ray joined some friends (the Everest Base Camp Trekkers) on a 20 day adventure in Nepal, making an ascent through the Himalayas to reach the summit of Kala Pattar (5545m) overlooking the Everest Base Camp. Climbing at such high altitudes was really tough and he experienced at first hand some of the amazing people that live in the midst of Everest.

Nepal is one of the poorest countries in Asia, with 83% of the population living on less than £1 a day. The trafficking of women and children is a huge problem. Our chosen charity, Plan International, is helping to provide communities in Nepal with the foundation they need to earn a living. Every £150 we collect in sponsorship will pay for the vocational training of one vulnerable female who is a victim of, or at risk from human trafficking. Only with a regular income can they protect themselves. With your support, this project can make a difference to the lives of many children, families and communities in Nepal.
