Five Treknologists are attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge on Sept 17th 2011. The team is made up of highly skilled and motivated technologists who know nothing about trekking - what’s the worst thing that can happen.....
We are planning to complete the challenge (climb Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike & Snowdon) within 24 hours to raise money for Rosie May Memorial Fund.
Rosie May, the daughter of one of our M&S colleagues, was tragically killed at a friend’s Christmas party. Rosie May was gifted and beautiful. She loved life and was loved by her family. A star on the stage and in everyone’s eyes with a life and a future packed full of potential and achievement. Her infectious sparkle drew everyone towards her like a magnet. The family's very happy and secure life was shattered in an instant and without warning transformed into "every parent’s nightmare."
The memorial fund was developed to provide some meaning to this terrible event and to help others remember and commemorate Roise May is a positive and useful way.
The fund supports Sheffield Children's Hospital and provides vital support to Sri Lankan orphans who are still affected by the tsunami (the family were in Sri Lanka when the tsunami hit).
As much of M&S business is through Sri Lanka so there is a special link for us with the work the memorial fund is doing.
