My story

I am a pensioner nearer to my 87th than my 86th birthday. I am a Vice-President of the Britain-Tanzania Society and a member of the Hillingdon Interfaith Network .

I propose during a week in April or May to do a sponsored swim, the proceeds of which will be divided between two Charities : Malaria No More UK and The Tanzania Development Trust.

During the week concerned I will visit the Uxbridge Pool three times and see how many 25-metre lengths I can complete in total. The target will be a minimum of 60 lengths ( 1.5 km. ) but, miracle permitting, I may manage up to 100 lengths ( 2.5 km. ) I would like you to sponsor me.

There is the small problem that you will have to trust my account of the number of lengths that I complete but perhaps, since I am a Quaker ( albeit not a very good one ) you will be prepared to accept my word. Please help.
