My story
Many thanks for visiting my page. Your donations are really appreciated. I would like to contribute towards two projects that the Jigsaw Trust are undertaking - the development of adult services (launch due in September) and the additional resources, facilities and equipment for the school:
· a stage for school assemblies and performances (£5,402)
· a treadmill for the school gym (£2,200)
· iPads for pupils with no vocal communication skills (£300)
· cameras for classes (£100 each)
· board games for classes (£20 each)
Adult Services - The transition from school to adulthood is particularly challenging for young adults with autism as they try to make sense of, and communicate with, the world around them. Their needs are complex and they will continue to require specialist support and care whether at home or in the workplace. From September 2012 the Jigsaw School will continue to provide services for their young adults through Adult Services provision, Jigsaw+. Jigsaw+ will support access to ongoing learning opportunities, vocational training, housing and care that is specifically designed to meet the needs of adults with autism and associated learning difficulties.
