TREV TRACKER UPDATE:
Dad has asked me to keep this page updated as his journey progresses...
He has completed the first part of his bike ride today and is really pleased with himself... Although he reports that it is extremely hot (and his bum aches!)... He is eating the local food (well two Vietnamese bananas!) and is looking forward to the rest of his challenge!
CHECK BACK SOON FOR MORE UPDATES!

Dear Friends,
For those of you that do not already know, I am to be celebrating my “50” birthday this coming August, I know you’ll all be thinking ‘I don’t look old enough!’J But ‘hey ho!’… Here I go...
To celebrate this momentous occasion, it got me into thinking how lucky I have been since my “arrival”. I had a great Mum & Dad (Margaret & Bernie, who are unfortunately no longer with us) who made me the person I am today. I have also been blessed with a fantastic wife, Janine, of some nearly 30 years! Honestly! J She has afforded me/us 4 wonderful children! Gemma, Hayley, Paul and Tim! I thought also of the numerous good friends whom I have been so lucky to have met along the way, and gotten to know them and now class them all as part of my extended family!
I seem to have been dealt an “excellent set of cards” in life and it got me thinking of the many that may not have had a good start to life! And so, I have decided to try and help some of those not so fortunate. Whilst listening to the local radio station, Wave 105, I heard one of the DJs, Mark Collins, mention a charity: “Cash for Kids”. This organisation helps local children within our area to access services, facilities and support with help from their charity funds. Mark is organising a Sponsored Cycle Challenge to be carried out in November 2011, from Vietnam to Cambodia, which I have decided to participate in.
Those of you that know me well, will know that this type of thing “Is-Not-Me”… Even I would have to admit to that! I am not known to be an athletic type of person! In fact, I couldn’t be further from it! I most certainly have not done very much bicycle riding either, that’s for sure! However, I am throwing all caution to the wind as they say and have now signed up to participate and am looking forward to supporting such an excellent cause!
This is where you come in… In order to participate in this Challenge I have to raise a minimum of £2,400.00! I am hoping to raise at least this amount and so I am setting my target at £3,000.00. I would like to ask for your most kind generosity in the way of a donation, pledge or sponsorship of your highest order - so that the “Cash for Kids” charity gets as much benefit from my efforts in carrying out this most challenging feat!
Should you wish to offer your kind support in a higher amount than usual of a donation, pledge or sponsorship, we would be more than happy to accept instalments as the monies do not have to be paid over until 10 August 2011. You can pay in cash, cheque or, if preferred, through my “Just for Giving” web-page by credit or debit card. This can be found at www.justgiving.com/TrevorCleall/.
I will be keeping a daily-log of how the group and I are getting on with our challenge including photo’s and hopefully video clips that I would hope to share with you all once I return and am “out of hospital”! J Should anyone have any queries about this trip I would be more than pleased to answer any questions and offer any updates as and when I might have them?
Once again, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this letter of introduction and hopefully for your most kind support. I will be setting myself up for some cycle training, that I will most certainly need, in order to be fit enough to complete such a challenge as this! Wish me luck?!
My Kindest Regards,
TREVOR
