Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

We lost our father to a heart attack on 28th November 2008. Since then the British Heart Foundation has been a charity very close to our hearts. We wanted to raise awareness of the fantastic work they do through a charity concert in honour of our beloved Father, Dalbir Khanpur, from the legendary Bhujhangy Group. The Bhujhangy Group are the worlds longest running bhangra band and were founded in Smethwick, Birmingham in 1967. They have an impressive catalogue to their name having appeared in the Guiness World Book of Records for being the pioneers of bhangra music in the UK since 1967 as well as receiving an award from The House of Commons for their work on Punjabi Cultural and bhangra music in the UK in 2009. The group have recorded 50 albums and in 2012 they celebrated being in the Bhangra industry for 46 years.

The Tribute Charity Concert for Dalbir Khanpur Bhujhangy is set to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and the fight for every heartbeat in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

The event, organised by Gurcharan & Herjinder Khanpur Bhujhangy, invites people to show their fight by attending and supportingthe event held at The Tower Ballroom, Birmingham on 30 November 2013 at 6.00pm.
