<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Hello, and thanks for visiting our donations page for those coming over for the 2011 Triratna International Chairs Assembly.

<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Donations made here will really help in making this bi-annual gathering even more of a success by helping it be truly international. Many chairs across the world will be there, but six coming from afar have also said that they need financial help to make it possible. They are:

<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Abhayaraja (Pune, India)

<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Manjunatha (Merida, Venezuela)

<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Manjupriya (Sao Paulo, Brazil)

<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Sudaya (Melbourne, Australia)

<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Viriyalila (Free Buddhist Audio / Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA)

<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Viveka (San Francisco)

<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">We’re writing to ask if you’ll help us raise some money to make it possible for them to attend. It’s a rare opportunity for them to be with other chairs - to share their experience, discuss issues that arise at their centres, to practice and be on retreat with them, to do all the other supportive things that we in the European Chairs Assembly are able to do twice per year. The Assembly will be held at Padmaloka in the days before the International Order Convention in August – if people are able to come, they’ll most likely get a double boost by going straight on to the Convention after our retreat.

This year of course, for the first time there’ll also be the International Assembly, and three of the above chairs are hoping to attend that too. The International Assembly will bring together order members from around the world - the Europe, India, Latin America, North America, the South Pacific, and the UK and Ireland - and from the three ‘strands’ of our Sangha - the Triratna Community, the Order, and Preceptors College.

Could you donate £10, or £20, or even £50? (or more, or less, - depending on what you can afford). We’ll use this money to help those six from afar attend the summer Chairs’ Assembly - and thereby, make it much easier for them to go on to the Conventions and international Assembly as well.

And please do tell your friends - if they can join in, all they need to do is visit this on-line donations page at www.justgiving.com/TriratnaInternationalAssembly2011

If you’re able to respond, we’d be very grateful if you could send the money ASAP –we need to be in touch with people soon, so they can book flights, arrange their time off etc. If you could donate by 27th June this would be really helpful. (But if you need longer – that’s fine too!)

We aim to raise £5,000 in total. This would enable us to give substantial help to those six chairs from Australia , South America, India and the USA who’d like to join us in the summer. We know they’ll be really touched by this, and very much appreciate our encouragement and practical help. It’s a win-win outcome as the European Chairs will also gain a bigger, international, perspective on the movement worldwide.

With many thanks for your help,

Vajragupta and Lokabandhu (Triratna Development Team)

<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">

<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">P.S. We are also asking Triratna Centres in the UK and Europe if they can donate, but we know (from doing this two years ago) that we need help from individual Order members too. In the unlikely event of us raising too much money, we’ll put the spare money aside to help those from afar attend future Chairs’ Assemblies.
