Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 1999, Alison and I visited Tanzania, laid eyes on Mount Kilimanjaro, but didn't have the time to climb it. It's always been part of the plan to return (along with the Inca Trail, but that's another story...).
Now I've been given the opportunity to join forces with a fantastic band of friends, all of whom want to set themselves a personal challenge, and raise funds and awareness for causes close to them. I'll be leaving for Tanzania this Saturday and we hope to summit about a week later. Not bad for a chap on his second false hip! It won't be easy, it won't be comfortable, there won't be much oxygen, but I want to go back and do Kili justice - and not succumb to altitude sickness. I just hope it's not cloudy at the top so I can see the curvature of the earth.
Too many people, including our friends and family, have been touched by cancer. I want to help Cancer Research UK find revolutionary treatments - like immunotherapy, which my Dad is currently undergoing - to help beat the Big C.
