Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

05/03/12 - The All Clear! I'm delighted to say that Tristan was seen by Prof Pizer today and has been given the green light for the end of treatment. He had a CT scan last week which shows that the bony defect is slowly repairing itself with no signs currently of disease recurrence. Arrangements are in place for the removal of "Wilbur" the central line on Thursday at which point we can really break open the champagne!!!

Once again a huge thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising effort. We handed over the final offline contributions today and are astounded by the total raised.

22/01/12 - The Big Swim!!! And what a big swim it turned out to be! Everyone did amazingly well with a distance of over 9km covered in total. Dominic and Ross managed a staggering 1050m each, very closely followed by Dan clocking up a fabulous 950m. Dan's sister Leah also swam for us and managed an impressive 310m and the "adults" managed a very respectable 2km each!! It is amazing what a bit of healthy competition can do! All in all a fantastic result and we are delighted that everyone did so well and our sincere thanks go to everyone who took part today.

As you can see from the total we have well and truly exceeded our target, and I must confess that we doubled our original target a few weeks ago when we realised how incredibly supportive everyone was being. Once again we say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH...

The site will remain open until 1st March so please if you haven't donated yet there is still time and every penny really makes a difference.

15/01/12 - Wow, we've reached our £2000 target today! This is brilliant - thank you so much. We have been blown away by your generosity.

The fantastic five are now set to become the super six as Tristan's Godfather, Uncle James is also going to swim. This is excellent news and means we might even clock up 6 km so please keep giving so we can raise as much as possible for oncology unit and the children and families needing their care.

07/01/12 - Thank you very much for all the generous donations we've received so far. It is very humbling.

We have set a date of 22nd January for our swim. We are delighted that Dominic's good friends Ross Kaszuba and Dan Jennings have agreed to join us in the water. Dan's dad Nic is also going to swim so hopefully we will hit our target of 5km!

There is still plenty of time to donate, the amount is not important but your support is...

Tristan was diagnosed last Christmas with a rare form of tumour behind his left eye. He has undergone intensive chemotherapy treatment over the past 12months at the oncology unit at Alder Hey Childrens Hospital and fortunately has responded very well to this. We are coming to the end of his active treatment and as a way of showing our gratitude to the department, we are doing a sponsored swim in the New Year to hopefully raise as much money as we can to support the unit in the invaluable work they do caring for children with cancers and related conditions.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to our chosen charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. Very many thanks.
