Friends, family, colleauges and friends of friends,
Please help us to raise enough money to build a second classroom at Enaikishomi School in Kenya!!
Enaikishomi School is a primary school in Northern Kenya created and funded by the friends and family of Amy Elgar who sadly died in 2005. Enaikishomi School represents a unique synergy between donors and community members working together to create a school model based on the principals of sustainability and community needs. As the number of students continues to increase, it is now necessary to build another school room.

In April Emily Elgar, Sarah Hugo and Ben Freedmand will drive a rickshaw (a glorified lawn mower) 5,000km from Cochin, Kerala in Southern India to Shillong, Meghalaya in Northern India. As part of the ‘Rickshaw Rally’ the team, called 'How Long to Shillong?', will traverse hills, wade through rivers and no doubt have a couple of tantrums along the road. The trio are undertaking the challenge to raise funds for Enaikishomi.
Fear not – you are not paying for our ‘holiday’ -our trip is entirely self-funded.
We have calculated that it will cost approximately £10,000 to build & furnish a new classroom.
We have therefore hitched a few different plans to try and extract some of your hard earned cash for this extremely worthy cause! Here are your different options:
· Sponsor us to do the Rickshaw Rally – a penny/ tuppence / pound for every 1km / 10/km 100km / 100km travelled
· Purchase from the inventory of stock needed to build the school (and receive a certificate of gratitude from the school)
· 24 March (save the date!) – An auction to be held in central London (Adam Street Private Members' Club)
· 12th March – a ‘fun’ 10km run (Hampstead Heath, London)
Thank you very much for your kind support!
Emily, Sarah and Ben
