<p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">In July 2010 ten volunteers travelled to Nairobi, Kenya for 2 weeks to volunteer as part of Jeneration's Kenya Kick It trip.</span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">Since returning from the trip the ten volunteers have committed to raise awareness and funds for some of the projects they worked on.</span><br /></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Our first project:<br /></span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Magodo Children's Home is an orphanage for 85 kids from the slums which also runs a feeding and education programme that attracts up to 500 more street kids who have nowhere else to go. <br /></span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">This number is likely to rise to around 800 next year. However, the toilets don't work, the playground is a mess of broken concrete and inches of thick dust giving half the children eye infections and awful coughs, and the classrooms are made from old rusty shipping containers - one of the side walls actually fell off during the time the group were there and injured one of the younger girls. <br /></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>Currently the government are threatening to close Magodo as the toilets do not meet health and safety regulations, meaning 500 kids will be back on the streets with little or no prospects.</strong></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff1493;">We will be running a number of events to raise funds for Magodo.
