Each year HCPT RN Gp186 aims to take around 10 children to Lourdes within its family group.  The children are invited to travel on the basis of their medical or social needs, and are drawn from the Royal Naval and Royal Marines community and from the Portsmouth baseport area. The group raises funds and receives substantial grants from naval charities for the sponsorship of all the children they take, and as a result, no cost is incurred by the children’s families. Each place costs around £800.
