No Shave November · 1 November 2013

Leeway have been working in Norfolk since 1974, supporting Women and Children who have experienced violence and abuse in their own homes. Leeway offers a range of services including, safe refuge accommodation, outreach support in the community, childrens services and an advocacy service, which works in partnership with Norfolk Constabulary.

Story

Sadly, most of the UEA Feminism Society committee are unable to grow an awesome moustache and participate in Movember, but we still wanted to raise some money for charity and hence we're participating in No Shave November (or Noshember if you will).

We wanted to support a local charity, and we've had chats at Socmart and World Café with UEA Leeway society about fundraising. Leeway is a great domestic abuse charity which helps men, women, young people and children who are survivors of domestic violence. It offers refuges for women and children, as well as community services for victims of all genders in Norfolk. You can find out more about Leeway on their website.

We won't be shaving for all of November, so please sponsor us and help us support a really worthwhile cause. Pass on the link to friends and family, and if you'd like to participate, let us know!
