Story

The Udzungwa Forest Project (UFP) is a conservation project based in the tropical forests of Tanzania (East Africa). The project aims to promote conservation through the use of education, scientific research and lobbying. The Udzungwa Mountains are an area of high biodiversity value, boasting large numbers of endangered species of plants and animals. However, deforestation in some areas is playing a huge part in the reduction of the valuable habitats.

It is vital that UFP gets all the funds it needs to ensure that this work can continue. Your donations will go towards project running costs and new schemes such as fuel briquettes (a recycled fuel alternative to wood) and tree planting, both of which will reduce the demand on the local forests for wood.
