GOATS FOR UGANDAN WIDOWS

Our friend Vincent is providing goats to the widows in his village. The concept is simple - each widow is given a doe (female goat). About twice a year these goats are impregnated and produce young (Vincent has a couple of viryle billy goats who are more than willing). Each widow is asked to give the first doe offspring to another widow or child-headed household in the village. She gets to keep the other offspring.  These goats provide milk for the family and manure for the fields. As each herd grows, the widows experience a level of financial independence that they have never known. Each goat costs £25 (which includes ongoing veterinary support). Vincent needs 100 more goats to empower all the widows in his community.
