Story
We're lucky to take this on, and would like Heads-Up to benefit in our wake.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
The National Three Peaks Challenge is a Charity event in which participants attempt to climb the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours.
The three peaks are:
Ben Nevis (4,409ft) the highest mountain in Scotland
Scafell Pike (3,209ft) the highest mountain in England
Snowdon (3,560ft) the highest mountain in Wales
The challenge covers ground which is continuously steep and takes its toll on ankles, knees and leg muscles. Blisters are common and despite taking place in the summer, the challenge can be badly affected by adverse weather. There is snow on the peak of Ben Nevis all year and the weather conditions on all three peaks can be very unpredictable. With three climbs in 24 hours the Challenge becomes more difficult, draining your energy and depriving you of sleep, the only break in walking is on the minibus whilst driving between each peak.
