As some of you may already know, this is our second year raising funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association on behalf of The Broad Appeal - The charity we, The Broadettes, support.

We decided to raise money for the MNDA this year in memory of the incredible lady, Miche Broad, who inspired the start of another fantastic charity, The Broad Appeal. Miche lost the battle against MND 3 years ago. Most of us may not have had the opportunity to know Miche but from everything that has been said about her, it is clear that she was a strong, independent, and an inspirational woman whose life was taken away from us way too soon due to this horrible disease. She is the reason why we know what MND is so it's only fitting that we fundraise in memory of her.  

If you aren't aware of MND - it is a neurological disorder that affects motor neurones in the body which eventually leads to debilitating disabilities and death. MND is also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in Commonwealth countries and as Lou Gehrig's Disease in others.

MND is passed on from generation-to-generation. Currently there are no tests to identify MND at it's early stages therefore it is diagnosed by an elimination process. So far there is no cure for this disease; so it’s imperative to help researchers find one. In order to do research they require funding and this is our way of helping them out.
