As you are aware, a significant escalation of violence between Israel and the Gaza Strip has taken place over the last few days.

Israeli air strikes have levelled dozens of buildings and is crippling the extremely fragile society of Gaza. The medical infrastructure of Gaza is not fit to meet the rapid increase of causalities.

In the last major conflict between Israel and Palestine (Operation Cast Lead, 2008), 762 Palestinian civilians were killed including 300 children (Israeli human rights organisation B’TSelem). Many of these deaths occurred due to the shortfalls in Gaza's medical infrastructure.
