On the 27th June, 22 bleary eyed competitors will stroll onto the pitch at about 5am. At this point we will have what could be the most important coin toss …. ever !!!

The spoils for the winning captain is the chance to bat first, allowing the opportunity for most of the team to curl up in a corner and get some more kip. The two most alert players at this point will be known as ‘openers’.

For the fielding team no such opportunity exists (except if you are fielding at fine leg!!!). However there is the opportunity for bowlers to vent anger at being woken up so early at some groggy batsmen (that 'may' or 'may not' have been kipping in the pavilion).

We are looking forward to a sun drenched day (how could it not be in drought stricken England in June!!), plenty of runs, and mocking those poor individuals that get ducks!!!

The game will be held from dawn till dusk. Thats a lot of cricket!!!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor the day:

Our chosen charity is Cancer Research UK, and they will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
