British 10k London Run 2010 · 11 July 2010 ·

OCD-UK is a leading national charity and an independent service-user led organisation working with and for children and adults affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Story

I am doing the 10K run on 11th July to raise money for OCD-UK.  Anyone who knows me well will know that this will be quite a challenge as I am not a runner, or an athlete of any kind, for that matter.  Think of a Barbie doll who has been dismantled and then re-assembled slightly wrong and you will be close to imagining what I look like when I run!

Anyway, I am hoping to raise money for a charity which helps people with OCD, a really unpleasant mental health illness which can lead to varying degrees of incapacitation.  Intrusive thoughts lead to frequent rituals, habits and obsessions which can make leading a normal, active life very difficult.  As some of you may know, my eldest son has been suffering from severe OCD for several months, and has been away from school for almost a year.  Money raised towards OCD-UK can help with research, awareness and support for those afflicted.
