As many of you know I am off to Africa in January to join the Peaks Foundation's 3 Peaks 3 Weeks challenge.
The Peaks Foundation organises global mountain challenges for women who seek adventure, a sense of personal achievement, and an opportunity to make a positive difference in the world. We support and empower women and girls in communities where the challenges take place, through initiatives such as education, maternal healthcare and community-led conservation.
I will be part of a group of 10 women from around the world who will climb 3 of East Africa's highest peaks, in just 3 short weeks. Mount Kenya, Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro total 15,660 vertical metres and each mountain represents one of the three East African based non-profit organisations we are supporting: Support for International change HIV Centre (http://sichange.org/), School of St Jude in Arusha (http://www.schoolofstjude.co.tz/ ) and the Laikipia Wildlife Forum (http://www.laikipia.org/). The women are responsible for all their own expedition costs and all funds raised go directly to the 3 organisations.
Peaks Foundation is about embracing adventure, challenging yourself, and supporting local organizations. By supporting me on this climb you are contributing to the advancement of girls and women worldwide, and in doing so, positively impacting individuals, families, communities and countries.
