Story

I’m Vanessa, Theo's Auntie and I’m Tiffany, Vanessa’s friend of 7 years. We both live and work in Hong Kong.

"Living across the world away our family’s, sister’s and nephews, when we feel they need us the most is incredibly hard. That is why Tiffany and myself are doing this, to show that we can support from other side of the world! And do this for my incredible and amazing Nephew who means the world to me. He deserves to walk, run, jump, climb just like us and that would mean more than you could ever know! “ Love Auntie Nessa and Tiff xxxx

On the 15th of June we are doing the 7.5km Hong Kong Peak race for Theo’s wish to walk!

At 6 30am we will start our journey to the Peak, the highest mountain of Hong Kong island with an altitude of 552 m (1,811 ft.), to start the race 8am.

It is going to be physically and psychologically challenging for both of us, with 6 weeks of training being required. June is arguably the worst month of Hong Kong, with the hottest temperature, highest humidity and rainfall.

“Hong Kong humidity in June is oppressive and it’s tough to undertake any amount of physical exercise outside without sweating buckets. The only way to see the city is to take a very, very leisurely stroll, dodge into the air-conditioned public transport from time to time and avoid all hills. Worse news comes from the skies, which tend to unload a waterfall of rain on Hong Kong in June. Average precipitation is a soaking 394mm, which adds up to an average of 18 days of rain through the month, and average temperature of 32C!

Statement from Tiffany “In life we take so much for granted, just a short walk to the shops, playing sports or even just getting up to the toilet, these are the simplest things we do every day without thinking about it!  For Little Theo these things are some of the hardest things he has to tackle every day, as his disability cerebral palsy is holding back his wish to walk, I can imagine it is frustrating to him and his family around to see. So please take a moment to think about Theo's wish to walk and sponsor me and Aunt Vanessa to run the Vemma peak run in order to raise awareness of cerebral palsy and money for Theo's operation for his wish to walk!”

Please sponsor us to help my nephew to walk it means more than you could imagine!
